When I was in the dating world, and that was before politics got as polarized as it is now, someone who didn't line up with my views was an immediate dealkiller. NEXT!

when my wife and i started dating, i brought up her and her family's politics.

she said they were democrats and i had a pause. then she said that all of her local races were democrats so they had no choice, but her family hadn't voted democrat for president since Carter.

in Texas there was the Chet Edwards and Charlie Stenholm types that would have no place in the democrat party today.

my mom was head of the county RNC at one point so that would have been an issue.

my in-laws were in this last weekend and i was talking to them aside from my wife and kids and politics came up as earlier my wife had said something (justifiably) critical of Trump and they asked me in private if she was voting for Biden or something. they were genuinely worried their daughter had become liberal. i assured them that wasn't the case. she just didn't care for Trump.
