I just replaced a Snapper commercial 21" last summer that I bought new 16 years ago.. aside from just the routine maintenance, it has never given me any issues and are built like a tank.. I replaced it with a Honda Hrx and can tell you that the Honda is a more refined machine with a better quality of cut. They both rear wheel drive, the honda took some getting used to but its flt out awesome. The honda has a 200cc motor that is noticably quieter than my older 190cc.
The wheel adjustment on the Honda is quite good, the snapper was fine as well..The Honda has a blade brake clutch to stop the blade but not the engine and holy shite I would have never believed that feature could be so convienient. The deck on the snapper was steel and was still in good shape after 16 years, the Honda is made of heavy plastic/polymer. The price of the Honda was ~$800 and I think I paid around $600 for my old snapper, the new ones are a little more.. so costs are what and what.
They are both great machines but the snapper does not cut and mulch as good as the Honda. Cant go wrong either way, the new snappers can be had with a Honda GX motor for a little more coin..which if you lean snapper, that GX motor is a beast
