I think his system fits what the Pelicans want to run. Give Zion space and surround him with shooters and guys who can get to the basket.
Not my top choice either but he fits better than Lue in my opinion.

I'm not sure that he would run 4 Out with us. Do we have enough shooters for that?
I could see BI in the Rashard Lewis role, and he specifically mentioned he liked Ball's development as a catch and shoot 3 guy, but I think we need one or two more consistent 3 point shooters to be effective on the roster.
To me its why a draft pick like Nesmith makes a lot of sense.
