I'm going to throw out a name never mentioned. A member of the 1958 Chinese Bandits was a high school teammate of my brother at St. Aloysius in New Orleans, Andy Bourgeois. As a 11 year old I was a big man on the school playground. I "knew" one of the famous Chinese Bandits.

P.S....that ought to give you a hint of how really old I am.

There is not a player mentioned that wasn't my hero during and after their playing days. Some like Jimmy Taylor and Billy Cannon, I never saw play until they made it to the NFL.
Most, I listened to their play at LSU, as described by John Ferguson, on WWL.
