If you are in Louisiana, you’re in a right to work state. You can be fired for any reason or no reason at all unless you have a contract of employment for a specific length of time or you were fired for a reason protected by federal law. Just because the reason you were given is not in the company handbook as a fireable offense doesn’t mean you have a case.
