re: .308 or 6.5 creedmoor for deer hunting?

Couple of years from now when we get a Ruger/Marlin 16" side loading 30-30 lever action with side eject we can comfortably mount a scope rail with a Leupold FX-II Ultralight 2.5x28 scope that will be my answer for a sub 200 yard deer shot.

Until then either of these is more than sufficient for the job. Honestly I'd just start window shopping and see if a deal falls across your lap. No need to lock yourself into a caliber before you start shopping. Sooner or later you will run across something you love or find a great deal you can't pass up. Just be prepared to jump on the deal when you find it.
