I'm talking about 2019. The whole second half of the season teams rushed only 3 and joe sat back there for 10 seconds. Brennan had those opportunities but often times scrambled himself into pressure.

I was unaware that Burrow's first season was 2019.

The offense saturday is probably very similar to how the 2018 offensive players would have performed with 2019’s playbook.

I know it has been said but it needs to continue to be said. The defense was the bigger problem Saturday not the offense.

I get your trying to be optimistic, and I appreciate that. However, burrow was in our program for about a month before that game, Brennan has been here for 4 years.

Burrow also only had 6tds / 4int in his first 9 games. 6 of those in which he threw 0 td's! But apparently everyone knew then he had "it" because he had moxie or some shite lol. People are delusional

No, we could tell he had command at the line of scrimage, pocket awareness, and leadership. We also knew he only had weeks to develop chemistry with his wide receivers. We could also see he was handcuffed by an antiquated offense that ran two receiver sets 90%, while learning to take snaps from under center for the first time in his life.

Juxtaposed to Saterday, Brennan looked timid at the line, absolutely no pocket awareness, and his comments post-game doesn't exactly scream "leader". He's running the same offense as last year, and he is used to taking snaps out of the gun.

I say all of this, and yet I am still holding out hope that the light will come on for Brennan. But to suggest that fans were delusional becuase we could see what Burrow had to offer without the stats to back it up is just ignorant.
