Screw tempering expectations. He’s about to sling the ball all over. Brennan 400 yards 4TD and is resting by the start of the 4th.

I think Brennan will play very well this season, this is a lot to expect for the first game though.

Would be nice. But an efficient 250 yds, 2 TDs, no picks would be fine by me. It's probably going to take him some time to get acclimated. Similar to Joe in '18.

I like Brennan, seems to have a strong and accurate arm but from the limited sample size he seems to look his receivers down and be a little interception prone. Hopefully I’m wrong here!

it gets forgotten but Brennan was a big time prospect, a clear level ahead of Burrow. that doesnt mean everything but it does mean something, .9347 vs .9003 is sizable, 280 is gettin close to double 152. when you erase state HS records with "Favre" in them, you can fukkin sling it. its even more amazing when you do it at Stanislaus, I should know, I went there.

There is no way he throws for 400 yards... and this game is gonna be a lot closer than most think.....

I agree it'll be closer than most think, the Air Raid either works really well or not at all, and with this being Week 1 after half the practice time of a normal season, Im leaning towards "really well" (EDIT: x2 with Stigley now out).

I do think we keep them out of the end zone when the field gets small though, things will stop in the Red Zone, theyll get yards but wont score a ton. Itll be a mirror of the 2011 West Virginia game.

But thats also why Brennan ends up near 4, theyll be on and off in a flash, their pace will keep our offense on the field and their yards will keep us slingin. O will want to prove we're still the greatest show in CFB if nothing else, he wants to show recruits we werent just Brady and Burrow.

Getting in a shoot out with a Leach team... anything is possible even 400 yards passing.

Not saying this is impossible—I think I read MSU’s weakness is their secondary—but it’s very very unlikely. Not only do we seem to have 3 RBs that the coaches trust as opposed to only 1 at the beginning of last year, but we are replacing 3 starters on the OL. And 2 of them are starting as rookies in the NFL, which is crazy. The guys replacing them should be really good, but it takes a bit of game time for an OL to function as a complete unit, and it’s usually easier to run block 1st.

So I expect running the ball to be a big part of the game plan. Especially once we’re up comfortably. Besides, Brennan hasn’t been a starting QB in 5 years. He’s sure to have both some rust and nerves to work through. I care much less about his yards and TDs as much as I do his completion %, turnovers, and overall command of the offense. There will be games where he gets close to 400 and 4 TDs, I just don’t think that will be today.
