I was awake for mine. I could smell the burning when they were making the incision.

I'm getting mine on Thursday of the Masters and I also opted for the IV sedation. I'd be nervous as hell if I was awake (and I'm a physician)

How much more is it for them to put you to sleep? I'm definitely interested in that. I'm like you -- no desire whatsoever to be awake during that.

Candyass! I had the doctor prop up my back so I could watch the procedure when I had mine done!
