Awesome job by the team this year
so much fun watching a great offense.

Need to win a couple of postseason series at least for this year to be a success imo. Team needs to feel some postseason success for next year when our rotation isn't decimated.

Oh, and I wonder how the losers who wanted to trade Freddie after last postseason will feel when he wins the MVP this year. Oof

Who wanted to trade em? He obviously should have been benched with his injury because he was hurting the team at the plate and in the field.

I may have drunkenly rambled about trading him because he was bad in the series, but what really should have happened is Snit should have moved him down in the order during that series when it was obvious that he couldn't swing a bat.

I'll save those bookmarks for when he wins it. The north remembers though, have no doubt.

It definitely falls on Snit and I suppose he thought Freddie could help after his HR early in the series and it ended up being a disaster.

With the financial shortfall of The Battery I would be shocked if we give Ozuna a long term deal. Offseason priority will be adding a guy like Bauer or trading for a starter with a significant financial commitment and extending Freddie. DH role (or 3B next year with Riley moving to LF if DH isn’t adopted) can be filled by someone like Turner on a 1 or 2 year deal which is a little less risky.

Yes please.

I would have loved to trade for Clevinger this season and then signed Bauer to a one year deal in the offseason. Imagine this as a 2021 staff:

Bauer
Soroka
Clevinger
Fried
Anderson/Wright

fricking wow. That would have made us legitimate World Series contenders.

If the NL continued with the DH this would be absolute lunacy unless his price became astronomical.

I don't think a lot of the new rule changes are here to stay, but I do think this one is. I don't think we'll ever see a pitcher hit again. I didn't think I would like it at first but it has grown on me.

So it sounds like Ynoa and Wilson will pitch the last two games of the regular to see who our 4th SP will be for the postseason.

I think he will get something close to what Donaldson got. Hard to see us going there imo with the other needs. I would prefer Turner probably on a short term deal. Maybe Ozuna has really unlocked something but this is really the first time the production has matched the peripherals,

Also, how have we not discussed the fact that Ronnie has a kid?

I had no clue.

I think you're right.Ozuna is 29,in his prime and coming off a career year. He's gonna want a huge number...maybe in the 4 year
$110 to $120 million range.

He is SOOO worth that if the NL is going to the DH in ‘22. His bat speed is Sheffield-esque and will play past his 33-year-old season, easily. And he seems to bring a lot of energy to a franchise that’s been rather stoic the last 30 or so years, but has just had an infusion of young talent. A lot of it Latin, who he seems to be a mentor for.

You pay him, let him play 120 games in LF in ‘21, 20 inter-league games at DH, and the remaining 22 to either rest completely or pinch hit if needed. Then he can move to the primary DH in ‘22. But we NEED his power in the lineup. Especially if they want to keep Ronnie leading off. As great as Freddie is, his game is hitting piss rods in the gaps. He fricks up and hits homers 25 times a year, but he’ll never be feared in the same way Ozuna is. And that’s not to say Ozuna is better than Freddie, just that they’re different and compliment each other.

We need to roll into ‘21 with Ozuna, Ronnie, Duvall, and Pache as our top 4 OFers. Same 4 in ‘22, with Ozuna getting most of the DH starts.

I don’t think we want to expose Duvall to righties as much as we have this year next year. We have to get a legitimate platoon partner for Duvall. Ender obviously has to be traded even though we will likely have to eat almost all of the money even to get a flyer back.

Freddie's elbow was goo by the time the playoffs hit. But w/how he is, he wasn't coming out of the lineup. But anyone who was screaming to trade him was being irrational. And agree that Snit should of dropped him in the lineup.
