My Dad is 93 and still works full time. He told his wife (#3) I love you, but I love science more. If he ever has to retire he won't last long
I am considering retiring at 62 in a couple years and generally enjoy what I do, but don't live to work.

If you have the money then retire. But you need some other interests or you will go crazy. I am just fine in retirement. I look at my investment portfolio too often though.

My gfather retired with pension from three different careers before passing on at 91.

20 years military (ww2)
20 years timber mgt
20 yrs sales (manufactured buildings)

He died with very little wealth, it was all pension checks. Totally different nowadays. No pension but your wealth grows over time. He'd have been worth millions with today's system.
