That's simply not true. There may be an argument that the risk to his stock is greater playing than not playing, but he is not the unquestionable top WR taken regardless if he plays or not. There are certainly a handful of receivers that haven't opted out that could jump him, which, if we look at the slot values could cost him $10MM. The difference in signing bonuses between a top 5 pick and a top 15-20 pick is about $10MM. Him playing and having another good season could solidify him in his current projected slot. Now, he just has to hope others don't pass him while he sits at home. His play is what got him his stock. He's not a genetic freak that is 6'4" and runs a 4.3 40.
