How in the hell has a virus that’s been around for only 5 months and we already know the long term damage of organs??

Don't bring such logic into this discussion.
And since were are now using "long term damage" concerns as the reason to continue our gross overreaction, let's look at some other realities.
This week after the Big 10 completely fell flat on their face they hurriedly had a cast of lackey journalist write stories about a potential complications from a scary word, "Myocarditis" as the justification for shutting down the season they had just released the schedule for 6 days prior.
The problem is, Myocarditis isn't anything new. In fact, we've LONG known it is a potential complication of influenza infection (aka the flu. It is also a possible complication from other common viruses such as coxsackievirus. If you don't know, this is what causes things such as "Hand, foot and mouth disease" which is VERY common among children. Yet, despite knowing our new scary word of the day brought to you by the panic inducing media, Myocarditis, has long be a potential side effect of very common viruses, we've somehow managed to avoid completely fricking freaking out over it...until now.
At every single turn we (predictably) see cornoavirus (while very much real) is not nearly as bad from a relative perspective as the media and government officials desperately want you to believe. So the justifications for keeping the abject panic going have to constantly evolve. That's the pesky thing about reality. Sometimes it gets in the way of a grossly exaggerated, if not outright fabricated, narrative.
By the way? When are we ever going to "flatten the curve" on this? Or are we still waiting to see what happens in Italy in two weeks? I can't keep up with the current rationale in place to avoid living a normal and enjoyable life.
