And as I stated in the OP, the efforts to force the wearing of a plastic enclosure at the LSU level is well-intentioned.

But the face-shield campaign is a half-baked notion that will be a bonanza for whatever company cuts a deal with the NCAA, high schools, and kiddie leagues to supply the suffocating device.

Amazing to me that any true fan of the game can blow off the comments of the LSU players who have actually used it, and hate it. They say they can't breathe.

THAT alone would be enough to scrap the idea immediately, IMO. The negative effects of COVID among the young is nearly zero. A plastic mask won't change that number at all. It will be about zero, with or without the damn things.

The only benefit I see is for the companies who stand to make millions of dollars supplying these things to the 5 million Americans who play organized football every year.
