Right, genius. Playing football while wearing an enclosed plastic globe on your head is a SMART thing.
Ask the players who have worn the damn contraption. They hate it.

There was an immediate review on the TicToc account of LSU linebacker Soni Fonua on a video from the LSU locker room.
On the video, Fonua is wearing the new face shield helmet, which already appears to be fogging. He’s laughing as he says, “I can’t F’n breathe under this thing.”
After his statement, senior starting offensive tackle Austin Deculus is seen walking in the background saying, “It’s like breathing in a Ziploc bag.”

Have ever played football? Hell, have you even ever watched it? There’s nothing about playing football that is SMART.

If you’re so concerned about player safety and being smart, why didn’t you post some CTE studies. There are infinitely more of them that actually correlate to playing football and it being the cause.
The fact is, football is inherently dangerous. A handful of players on every team break their legs, collarbones, etc...and tear their ACLs, MCLs, etc...I was actually on the field when someone was paralyzed. Quadriplegic. It was absolutely horrible and terrifying. But we finished the game. Nobody quit. Everyone is aware of the dangers by now. The ones that play, do so knowing full well the risks involved. They have just decided the rewards are worth it.
Again, I’m not even saying they should wear face shields. I don’t know if the science warrants it. But I am coming from a place where I see that people are trying this to actually HELP keep the players as safe as possible. You seem to think they have some nefarious plan with some (unknown to everyone but you) malicious intent.
