I do it all the time. Even if its just a tech rewiring it because someone screwed around with it, you're paying for his time and with an a-hole fee on top. People have no clue how much these are used for negotiating insurance rates, defending lawsuits, etc. Sure some bosses use them to micro-manage their employees, and that sucks. But these are almost required in today's business climate. Any company with any reasonably sized fleet will have some form of passive monitoring. The complexity of that will vary based on the size and strategy. If you don't like it, negotiate a different arrangement. Get a vehicle allowance, charge mileage, etc. Or find a different job. Quite acting like a spoiled brat because the company is protecting its assets and liability.
