was there for singleton's dunk. It was the sickest dunk i have ever seen in person. It took a minute for the crowd to react it was so crazy looking. His feet were above his head!

I think that's the thing I remember the most about the dunk. The crowd was so stunned and so confused at what had just happened that they had a hard time yelling at the refs and even doing much else than just going "Holy $hit!" The crowd was actually kind of speechless. Shaq's was very similar in that regard because of the fact that he jumped over some guy and the reach back for the ball was so impressive, but Vernel's was that much better because he didn't spread his legs to jump over the defender.....he actually just went over him sideways and from such an incredible distance.

King Joey - I have no idea which of the two, Thomas or Singleton, was the better leaper, but as great as TT's leaping ability is/was, he never did anything like Singleton did that night....at least that I've ever seen. And not to say that was a one-time leap for Singleton as he was well-known for having incredible leaping ability. I was always wanting to see him on a breakaway in a game, but I don't know that it ever successfully happened. The one time I remember him getting an opportunity was against Kentucky in the SEC tourney the day after Shaq got thrown out against Tennessee (if I'm remembering correctly). He had a chance at the breakaway and then sort of stumbled or lost the ball. Other than that, I just don't think he had many chances.
