Exciting thing about Moderna is that this is basically a proof of concept of their mRNA vaccines in general. If Covid-19 works, it's quite promising for others.

Also, a vaccine is a cash cow since it is often recurring/required on an annual basis. Treatment isn't nearly as valuable once a vaccine exists.
