The leap being that it will lead to more deaths or hospitalizations.
AZ is seeing a huge increase in COVID hospitalizations now. Also an increase in deaths and our positivity rate of tests is increasing.
When LA was at its worst with this....AZ wasn’t really that bad. I think my governor opened up things too soon...before AZ ever even reached its peak
And now here we are.

There isn’t anything else that could be contributing?

Not as good as a metric as I once thought it to be, it's becoming to be less powerful without context, just like case numbers.

And it's still a fraction of a fraction of your population.
You're distilling this entire issue through the lens of the world you live in, while the the overwhelming majority of the people in your state have had zero impact from the disease, yet a massive impact from the policies made in the name of "safety".

It’s the opposite...closed down too early before the virus really spread. Didn’t need to shutdown yet but too much fear mongering watching the news from places like New York. Virus isn’t going to peak when everyone is locked inside their houses.

Huge increase?
Define huge increase.
Then compare covid death rates to everything else death rates.
Then tell me why sacrificing the economy and personal liberty is worth it.
Do we monitor crash fatalities under a constantly changing microscope and shut down the interstate system everytime there's a spike?
Be smart, practice social distancing, and wash your hands alot.
Stop shutting down the economy and this bullshite mask propaganda.
