Ed O and the Manning's have always had a good relationship since Ed O's days at Ole Miss. Not to mention, that Arch's dad has said they are going to let him make his own decision. Just like their parents allowed them to do when they were choosing their schools to commit to.
Furthermore, times have changed. If Arch commits to LSU he can come in and make a name for himself. That won't happen if he commits to Ole Miss or Tennessee, and I don't see Arch committing to play for David Cutcliffe at mediocre football program Duke. For one thing, David Cutcliffe would be 68 years old by the time Arch arrived on campus and Duke is also in the weak ACC, as opposed to the SEC. Good luck with that.
Moreover, according to Randy Livingston who coaches basketball at Isidore Newman, he says, Arch is always in LSU gear.
Hence, I believe that if LSU can keep the offensive production up at a high level for the next couple of seasons, that Ed O and LSU will have an excellent chance at getting Arch to commit to LSU, in my opinion.
Not to mention, that Baton Rouge is close to home and close enough for the Manning's to drive to LSU during week days to watch the team practice.

quote:I listened to that pod cast clip. Wasn’t sure if he was saying randy was always in LSU gear around the family or that Arch wore LSU gear. The way it was worded sounded funny to me. I think he meant that randy wore LSU gear and was around the family.
