Yes. I’m depressed. I fully comprehend that change is inevitable as we journey through the human experience. Evolution is a certainty in all endeavors; Politics being one of many of them. Entertainment isn’t immune to evolution by any means. And that’s what sports are. Entertainment. Nothing more, nothing less. It’s all about how we prepare and react towards these changes and the NFL as an organization have been masters at it. The marketing and branding of the NFL is nothing short of astounding. I submit no matter what level of political infusion becomes immersed with the NFL, it’s popularity will only grow because the game is sacred and the masses have bought in for generations. This situation will evolve and we all, being loyalists, will find ourselves watching the games with family and friends from kickoff to final whistle. Because in the end, it’s only a game.
