Not to mention literally opening a new industry in the vats majority of the country would certainly help create jobs when we are looking at stabilized unemployment of around 10% when all is said and done.
I've been saying Louisiana should do this for that exact reason. Create jobs and generate some tourism dollars and demand.

I don't use any illegal drugs, but we do need to quit spending billions in the war on drugs.
1) Send that money elsewhere to rehab/free dope clinics and burial programs for the addicts.
2) Stronger enforcement of our borders to prevent importation along with stiff life imprisonment for smugglers.
