While I question the legitimacy of how viral the spread is of COVID after this past week, we are still seeing the mandatory 2 week isolation that players have to take when testing positive. My question is this. During the season, the NFL is going to be testing every 3 days, so I imagine college will be somewhere close to that. If a player test positive during the season, will that automatically rule them out for 2 games, or do y’all think we will have made strides by then?

Could you imagine a scenario where Chase “testing positive” before the Bama game or something similar. Just something I haven’t seen discussed yet about the season

If the NFL/NCAA and/or the individual schools are going to mandate 14 day quarantines for anyone who test positive for covid and those who have been "in contact" with him, then they may as well not even play. Presumably, if one player tests positive, then he will have been "in contact" with every other player on the team. Thus, necessitating a quarantine period for the entire team. That sounds stupid and excessive, I know. But there hasn't been a lot of reason and logic exercised throughout this entire episode.

Rest assured, the media and "social media warriors" will be screaming on a daily basis that sports should be suspended until there is a cure, or at least a vaccine. Neither of which is a certainty to EVER be developed.

Just call every game a protest, and we’re all good to have a full stadium and complete roster. COVID doesn’t matter in situations of injustice.

I feel a lot of the top programs will find ways to not quarantine top players

Nearly 2 million US cases and 111,000 deaths in a relatively short span of time and you doubt the legitimacy of the spread. Why make a claim you can’t substantiate? I know.

There are more unknowns than unknowns about the immediate and longer term of the virus. Speculation is futile. Conjecture just contributes to the confusion. The more folks who relax the protective measure, the more it muddies the picture.

With BLM and the virus, this season will be a shitshow if it takes place at all.

How are we supposed to answer that question? Who knows?

I've said it for months - there won't be any football this fall.

Sorry, I want college football as much as anyone, but I've resigned myself to the fact it ain't happening.

Basketball might play, since it's a far less number of players and coaches involved, but even that is iffy.

Until we get a vaccine, no organization wants the risk (which is very low for non-elderly people).
