My back patio currently has thin painted plywood for the ceiling. It has some areas of damage and I want to replace it and possibly upgrade materials. Anyone ever done this and know of who in BR can do this work? About how much? Any info helps, TIA.

an option would be beaded plywood and then paint it, looks good on mine

you can go right on top of the existing ceiling

I did beaded board on my breezeway when I connected the new garage to the existing house.

I did beaded plywood on our back patio with cheap insulation sandwiched between on our back deck I build last year. Sprayed it white and called it a day. Looks great and has held up well in the weather.

Built 2 years ago and this was something I looked closely at. I was told hardy is too heavy to hang overhead. Was told they make something called a smart board that is OSB and Hardy backed. Only comes in smooth tho. As for floating hardy, forget it. Parents did it on the walls of their pool cabana and after a year or so, all the seems start to show.

Can't say that I've ever seen painted v groove pine painted before pics above. But that looks really nice with the white.

I ended up going with pin beaded boards.

I'm also foamed the entire house. So my porch ceiling is insulated. Hard to tell if it makes a difference, since the open patio has plenty of heat. I think it makes a difference right now, but in July and August, there ain't a damn thing you can do about heat besides stay inside.

good luck.
