Mine are big. And when I have to bite down on the sensor for X-rays it cuts into my tori and hurts like hell.

Mine are large and only get in the way when eating lemonheads or some small candy to basically choke and die on. 
Good luck trying not to panic when food gets stuck there and you can't move your tongue out of the way.
