For the most part, you’re recording quantitative effects of the shutdowns and not qualitative. How do you record the impact of not being able to attend loved ones’ weddings, funerals, or baby showers? People are not having family dinners on Mother’s Day. What if this is your mother’s last one? What is the value of an extra year of life when that year is spent in social isolation? Those secondary effects aren’t being discussed.

Those are all valid questions and I think it sort of falls under the mental health umbrella. There is no way to really quantify it that I know of but it's real.

This is a question that more people need to honestly ask themselves.

The quality of life is more important than the duration in my opinion.
