I remember watching and never feeling like we had the game in hand until 0:00.

Maybe watching it in retrospect is boring, but watching it live was amazing.

Who cares what we did wrong? We won a National Championship that day!

Honestly, as good as we were that year, I didn’t think we could win that game. OU was hanging 60 on everybody they played and had a heisman winner at qb and also had an elite defense. Really says a lot about how good that 03 defense really was

I’ll take games with great defense over games with offensive shootouts all day long.

Did you miss that arse-kicking K State gave em in the Big 12 CG? Or think it was a fluke?

I wasn’t overly confident or anything, but that definitely took away OU’s air of invincibility.

That game definitely proved what I thought about OU that year. The national media spent all year calling them the GOAT and they really were destroying everyone before that. I would watch OU play and see their receivers running free down the field and White having all day to throw, and I thought “no way that happens against us, it’s their competition”.

BUT, I was a little worried that them coming off of a loss would spur them to play at their absolute best against us. They may have, idk, because LSUs defense wasn’t going to get pushed around like most of their schedule allowed.

That was back when defenses won championships

You can say the same thing about the NFL before the rules changes that neutered defenses.

If you think that game is bad, go watch the 2000 natty between OU and FSU.....

So we doubled Oklahoma’s yardage the last two times we played them.
