And no one said you didn't. But it's not up to you. Which is why I don't blame the hospitals for playing fast and loose with the Covid codes. That extra 20% is no joke to hospitals who are hemorrhaging funds due to stupid fricking politicians and people scared shitless due to the constant doomcasting from the media.
But then the shutdowns would happen longer. which prolongs the hemorrhaging of money. Hospitals want things back to normal ASAP, so padding the COVID numbers would be counter intuitive. Think just a little bit before posting

If you think JBE would have opened things up had the deaths been less by even 20%, I’ve got some ocean front property in Oklahoma for you.
ETA: not to mention that one of the main stipulations on opening is based on cases. And the other on hospitalizations. Deaths isn’t a factor.

so your logic is that the hospitals prefer getting 5% of the 50% they are currently losing back instead of getting all the 50% back?
makes sense

“Hey, let’s lie about codes so we can make 13k extra, while prolonging us losing 50 million a month. Brilliant!”

If you think that is my logic, you didn't read my post.
No, hospitals are desperate to get whatever income they can because they are not allowed to operate at normal levels, or because people have been told to stay away from hospitals. Or both.

No carry that logic all the way through and realize how dumb it is

And what gets hospitals back to normal faster, more covid cases and deaths or less?

Hospitals have zero control over things getting back to normal.
We've already flattend the curve. Hospitals are well below capacity, and have been saying so for a while now.
Guess what? We're still on lockdown, and people are still scared shitless to go anywhere near a hospital.
Hospitals could be running two for one surgery specials and it won't fricking matter because they are not the power brokers in this whole shite show.

Deaths don’t factor into the “opening” equation.
I get what y’all are saying but we can be realistic about what is keeping a state like Louisiana closed and it’s not the data.

Hospitals have been reporting less Covid cases. And that they have the PPE they need. And that they are in no danger of being overwhelmed.
Guess what? They're still ghost towns due to either government fiat or government/media fearmongering.

You clearly are just all in on the tin foil hat wearing. Have fun

Couldn’t the quoted text mean that only the most ill are going to the hospital, causing a rise in mortality because they aren’t watered down with milder illnesses as patients that are likely to recover?
I find it hard to believe people are getting heart attacks and electing to tough it out at that high a rate.
That’s how it reads to me, too.

Even more seriously, patients are putting off treatment for issues that require immediate emergency care – resulting in a 41% increase in non-COVID mortality rates.
Do you have an actual number? What does 41% equate to?

. I think it's likely that this lockdown will kill many more people than it saves from Covid-19.
And the people who instigated this farce are celebrating each and every death.

Incorrect. Access to healthcare has been decimated and not because of choice. Because practices and clinics and hospitals have stopped delivering normal healthcare.
There's definitely been a lot of collateral damage but the article was about people not going in for emergency care. That has always been available. Saying that hospitals have stopped delivering normal healthcare is just ridiculous. A lot of that has moved to telehealth visits. You think pregnant women are having babies in their bathtubs right now?

Hospitals aren't padding stats.
