Anyone know if Amberjack is opening this Friday May 1st?

Or if Snapper will be opening June 1st?

LA sportsman says no May Amberjack but others say it'll happen. Article states a bunch of 2019 but dated today.

Amberjack will open in Federal waters May 1st and last until the remaining quota from last year runs out or May 31st, whichever happens first.

AJ will start May 1. The snapper start was delayed since the commission meeting in March or April was canceled due to Covid. The next meeting is on May 7th and it will set the start and "end" dates.

Here in Florida they always open it up for charter boats first on red snapper. June 1st for charters, June 11th for recreational.

It’s ridiculous. Hard to catch grouper because there’s so many fricking snapper on the wrecks. Two fish limit is a joke. They’re damn near a pest at this point.
