So many reasons that this may be true besides the nicotine receptor angle. What if the nasal passages and lungs are so “scarred” from smoking, kind of like callouses on the hands, that they won’t “absorb” the virus? Or do smokers have a bunch of protective mucous that they hack up and expel the virus before it reaches the alveoli? Or are smokers less obese and younger? Does a nicotine patch/gum/Zyn/dip produce the same protective effects? Do smokers of non tobacco products have any protective effects?

Since this originated in China, where smoking may as well be focking mandated, I am going to reserve my skepticism.

I smoke and have yet to contract the dreaded illness. Put that in your data set and smoke it

ETA- Everyone saying "What about China" Theyve only had 4600 "reported" deaths

Greece, which has a cigarette use of 41%, has only reported 127 deaths
