I live in EBR. I haven’t seen any government bodies here laying off or furloughing employees. Neither is the state.
Contrast that with many private businesses and that should tell you something.
The facts is all these governments are facing major decisions and the longer they wait to do something the worse it will be. I can’t see raising taxes as an option.

ETA: a down vote from a government worker perhaps?
