So would OP be better in a sit in or a sit on top ?

Sorry, just came back to this post.
When I bought my kayak, I wasn't a fan conceptually of the sit on top but quickly found that they were more comfortable than a sit in. There's no argument with a sit on top if you're fishing. You need some sort of maneuverability if you're fishing and a sit in just can't provide that maneuverability. Storage is also much better with a sit on top. Definitely don't recommend a sit in for a angler kayak.
