Not being a dick, but you can't really be a 51 year old smoker who doesn't see a doctor and expect cheap rates or automatic approval.
Let me give you a plan. Apply for a simplified term policy and focus on a PREMIUM that you can afford. Then, after becoming the true captain of your ship, and beating your nicotine addiction (been there done that) for ONE YEAR ask to be re-classified as a non tobacco user. The carrier in all likelihood, will send a guy out to do a mouth swab, and if you are tobacco-free, they will raise the face value for you and the premium will remain the same. At that point, after this one is in place, you may even want to re-apply for a FULLY Underwritten non-tobacco policy at a better price.
As a point of fact life insurance carriers have not YET changed their underwriting criteria as a response to Coronavirus.

we are getting a carton today and quitting when it runs out (will save that $450 a month) and use that cash to make sure we don't run out of bourbon and wine...
I'm not worried, we are blessed financially (if I die, she will still make it, but would have to scale back a little)
in fact, the insurance salesman on the initial call was alarmed that I only wanted a 10 yr plan (told him that I'd have a paid for house and cash in the bank in 10 yrs, he seemed confused by that concept)
just enough to pay off house and give her a 2 or 3 yr cushion
my plan is to quit during this pandemic, get a physical in 3 or 4 months and get a non smoker policy with an exam
assuming the Chinese Flu doesn't get me that is...
