I have them once in a while. Mine look exactly like the second picture. They last a few minutes to a couple of hours. No pain and really just an annoyance. Don't know what if anything triggers them. They seem to come on randomly.

This. Get your eyes checked. The last one I had, I saw what looked like a multicolored lightning bolt cross the center of my eyes and then blurred vision momentarily.

After some research, I had my eyes checked a few days later and my eyes had changed. My contacts were not strong enough and basically months of not noticing that fact was the cause of the migraines.
