I get these from time to time. They seem to happen in clusters. Will have a bunch over a couple of weeks and then nothing for 6 to 9 months.
I never have any pain or nausea (knock wood) and they seem to come on a lot when I am driving.

Exactly my experience. Been happening for at least 25 years.
