I know some will say Wade would "process" lesser contributors if need be (and he very well may), but I think LSU taking Gaines' commitment (which puts them 2 over the "limit") probably signaled Watford is likely leaving. Certainly he is a take if he wants to come back as he would still be LSU's best frontcourt scorer, but 5 stars guys all see themselves on the fast track to the NBA and that predetermined mindset can be hard to shake.
Obviously it has worked out for Reid, but I bet he never imagined not being drafted when he arrived at LSU
Reid's body was NBA ready when he stepped on campus at LSU. His game was not. But if you are gonna go early, thats the winning combo (for NBA success)
Watford is sort of the opposite. His game is more advanced but his body needs work. He is skinny will get thrown around in the NBA. He has a skilled game close to the basket but needs to get more comfortable on the wing. The NBA spreads the floor. He needs to be able to improve his range and handle the ball better off the bounce when attacking the paint. Those are both things that could improve his draft stock. It amazes me that anyone would leave early without a 1st round grade. It worked for Naz. But for every Naz, there are 9 others that end up playing ball in Istanbul
