If they're smart, both of them will return. That way, they might really have a career in front of them!

What? He's averaging 12 points, 4 assists and 3 rebounds per game and he scored in double figures in 15 of the 18 SEC games.

What makes you think Watford is gone?

I just believe he will leave. He has produced well at this level and I think he is the type that will get a high enough draft grade to leave and make needed improvements in the NBA leagues instead of in college. Just a gut feeling. I hope he returns but I don't see it.

He wouldn’t make the D league right now. Plus his folks said he’s not leaving unless he has a first round grade

I still don't see Smart in the NBA unless he develops his game a lot more than it is. For any shot in the NBA he needs to play all 4 years out at LSU.

Ok? He would still be getting paid the same no matter what league he played in as an NBA pro. He can make needed improvements while getting paid. That's all I'm saying.

Also, as far as that first round draft grade is concerned, he was given a middle first round grade coming out of frickin high school. Lol, he was the number 21 player on the NBA draft big board. He will get a first round grade man. I don't think that's even a question. It comes down to him either wanting to come back to school and make improvements to his game, or get drafted, take the cash and be getting paid by the NBA while making improvements in a franchise against better competition. It's called the g league nowadays too, it stopped being the d league a few years ago.

None of them are good enough yet to think about leaving early

In one of the stranger stats I have seen, Naz Reid averaged 13.6 points and 7.2 rebounds per game last year as a freshman and Trendon Watford is averaging 13.6 points and 7.2 rebounds currently. Watford's FG% is actually higher, but he is a little lower in 3-point % and free-throw % though. So numbers-wise, he is right where Reid was and Reid is starting in the NBA right now. So maybe Watford is not that far off.

Yeah, I think folks sometimes mistakenly think the only way to improve your chances of making the NBA is staying in college when the reality is the developmental league prepares them better.

No one doubts his offensive game but Watford is one of the worst defending bigs that I can remember playing for us (out of the guys that had any potential at all. Not the stiffs we often threw out there in the Trent and Johnny eras)

I hate when I see him near the top of the key because I know guys are going to drain 3s. He refuses to get too close to the 3-point line and doesn't put his hands straight up on guys. He makes it easy on them.

With that said, the NBA is not a defensive league at all and it's laughable in some situations, so he get away with some poor D in the NBA.

He won’t be in any NBA League. Not the NBA and not the D League or G League or whatever they’re calling it for sponsorship purposes now.

You’re a motherfricking clown. Try watching a basketball game. If you think he gets a first round grade you’re clueless. He wouldn’t be drafted in the third round if there were one.

That’s from who they think will leave.

If Watford does leave he is projected a 2nd round pick.

Why do people assume once a player leaves college they just stop developing? I want guys to stay at LSU because I am a fan but the G league can also develop a player and it’s geared more towards the NBA style of play and you play against stiffer competition.

I think Watford will come back. I sat next to his high school coach one game and be said he loves LSU. Asked him about the draft and all that and he said if he blows up and averages 20-25 down the stretch he may leave. Watford certainly has not done that. He isn’t in most top 60 nba draft prospects at the moment. If he improves ball handling and his 3 ball he would be a top 15 pick

In order of most likley to come back

Days
Watford
Smart
