Small ball. LSU is forced to play small ball because LSU doesn't have the crushers at bat. You know the guys who can step up to the plate, with bases loaded, and "crush the ball". Defensive play is lacking somewhat but IMO that will improve as the season progresses. It's the lack of heavy hitting that's got me concerned. But then it's early in the season.

But I'm not panicky. A lot of baseball left to play, and Mainieri has proven he can recover and field a winner. Let's see what happens.

It's nothing big, just little things. The guys seem a little soft, not battling pitchers up there and little discipline. Just st missing some fire, some heart, some discipline.

These are the kinds of things that can improve over the season though, it's way too early to panick.
