During GoT a bunch of friends shared my HBO Go account. I went to watch the episode where Joffrey is poisoned that Monday after the release. Flip on the episode and didn't realize someone had been watching and paused it. Just so happens they paused at the exact time Joffrey is laying dead and purple. Spoiled that whole episode/event for me. Changed my HBO Go password that night

I was at a friend's during that episode but it was like a year before I started to watch GOT - didn't fully realize what I saw till I started the show myself.

This actually reminds me how I spoiled True Detective for myself. I used a friend's login and start the show. I didn't realize it would start on the last episode they watched, which was over a year before. The entire episode my wife and I are confused. I kept saying "Well, maybe we are supposed to be confused and everything will get pieced together". Well, turns out we were watching the finale. We realized it with about 10 minutes left. It took us a year to get the energy to start from the beginning. I'm glad we did because we enjoyed it a lot.
