I'm not following you?

1. bad management practices in southern states
2. enjoys hunting in IL and being selective
3. likes long liberal seasons in SC and isn't selective

1 + 2 does not = 3

If the state you are hunting has a very large deer population then the state has more leeway to let each hunter kinda of decide how they want to hunt. Freedom to decide how you want to hunt is a wonderful thing if the resource can handle it, IMHO.

Same here. If the season was just a few weeks like in some other states, I don't what I would do with the other 11 1/2 months. It's hard enough only having 4 months to hunt deer.

First of all frick you, you don’t know everything about deer hunting you prick. You are the exact reason we can’t get enough people to hunt you think you know it all. I am no great deer hunter but in my little club are 3 guys that have lived on this property for over 200 years collectively, and whose families all go back here over 150 years, and they remember the original Native American populations and can show you where they used to camp and live as relied to them by their grandfathers etc. Some of the roads are actually named after they, but you the great internet deer master obviously know more than them too of course. So then saying it’s one if worse seasons they can remember means nothing, because you know it all. ( the youngest one is 70 btw)

I I bet you make fun of little kids first deer’s too you, peta would be proud of you because people like you turn off more people to hunting then they could ever do. Maybe they will give you an award.

Alabama deer are a completely different lot that Mississippi, Louisiana or Georgia deer and there we almost no genetically Southern Deer left in Alabama. The local hunters almost wiped out the local deer in the 50s and they had to stop hunting and transplant 1000s of deer from places like Michigan, Ohio and Pennsylvania. Hence, these transplanted deer rut patterns can be very irregular, and what I have heard from legendary Bama hunters, who have written books and shite, is that these non-native deer rut patterns may in fact be impacted by unusual warm winter patterns, although I don’t know if an actual study has been published at this time.

Yes, when I hunted in Louisiana and Mississippi, Arkansas and Tennessee the rut was always the same time every year after year after year. It never varies by more than a few days. In South Alabama, thats not how it works.

Explains varied rut here, and also says weather has no impact I realize

And on the positive side, we have already witnessed two big tom fights, and I actually saw a big Tom run off a small doe weeks ago so maybe we are going to have an epic Turkey season, which would be fine with me.

And I apologize for losing it, but i am tired of this bulllshit. It’s the number one destroyer of hunting. Social media may end hunting

Dude you just contradicted yourself in your own argument with the guy you told to frick off cause he didn’t know anything. You said those 200 combined years natives said one of worse years ever then next paragraph said they were almost wiped out in the 50’s?!?!?! Lol. Which one is it? Because we know the population is really good there.

Then you jumped his arse about weather patterns affecting the rut and the very study you posted backed up what he was trying to tell you to begin with. You used words like “I heard” and “don’t know if there is a study” yet you posted that link to kill off your argument.

I have no dog in the tussle but you are clearly probably more of a problem to the hunting world than the man that may have gave you sound advice (even thought it came off as harsh) that your cutting his throat about. Kind of a douche move bro
