re: Don't pay Kamara the market value. He will never live up to it.

It's not in CSP to give top dollar money to RB's from what I've seen over the years.

Unfortunately for running backs, you’re absolutely right. Kamara, like those other guys are amazing. & if this was the old days, they would be much more valuable. But they just don’t give you much ROI when you pay them. Like who in recent memory was worth their extension? Maybe AP when he was a 2k man, but who else?

We did give Ingram a second contract, but it was 4 year 16 million deal. No one here will argue that Ingram's deal wasn't fair. There was never any talk of him being released form it, and the Saints got return on that deal. If Alvin can sign a fair deal then he will have life with this team.
Right now Spotrac calculated Kamara’s current market value at $15.5M/year. There's just no way this can happen.

If Alvin can replicate his sophomore effort, I don’t mind 10-12 mil a year more so because of the touchdowns. Problem is he’s coming off his least productive year. Thomas had a great 2018 year, got his contract, then followed up with a record setting year. That’s what you hope for if you’re a team & a fan.

I always loved Ingram and thought our horrible fans never gave him his due. With that being said ingram has never been what Kamara is. So, you can’t really compare their contracts. With that being said i would never pay a rb 15-16 million dollars. If it’s structured properly with lower guaranteed money and most of it in incentives then sure. It’s really all about how it’s structured.

8.3 mil per year would put him around 5th just ahead of Freeman in Atl..

The logic wasn’t wrong, but Kamara has proven his worth for sure.
