Anyone else notice the similar playing styles Between these 2 QBs, incredible ability to extend plays and the accuracy while throwing on the run.

Completely different type of player. Yes, while both have similar height and weight and like to extend plays outside the pocket, that's really the only comparables. Mahomes has a CANNON, I mean a straight cannon. I watched this guy for three years at Texas Tech. Saw almost every game from his sophomore and junior year (really wanted him to be a Steeler). He throws passes at all different angles, off all different types of throwing platforms, across his body from one side of the field to the other, sidearms, no looks, etc. All kinds of crazy stuff that you're not supposed to do. Burrow's much more technically sound and knows he doesn't have the arm strength to attempt passes like that.

Burrow reminds me of a younger, Rodgers when he used to scramble and throw on the run a lot. He does have a weaker arm than Rodgers, but his arm isn't weak itself.

That CANNON stuff used to be the primary attribute desired for QBs in old-school offenses. Needed to throw bullets to all points on the field.

But Montana was the model for Brees and Brady. And Brees was the model for Burrow. (And Unitas was the model for Montana.)

Reading defenses, and the ability to throw with timing and touch is far more important in modern Spread offenses. Burrow can fire it when he needs to. But he rarely needs to.
