Exactly. I think O wanted to bring in a guy he could trust to be there from year to year. With Aranda he never knew when the other shoe was gonna drop. By bringing in Pelini he's trying to establish long term stability for the program.
You can either go after some young hotshot genius knowing he'll soon be gone if things go according to plan or go with a veteran coach who has already went through his young hotshot phase.
