Maybe nothing changed.

You don't seem to understand that for any large group of people, various opinions may exist at the same time. Maybe the very people who trashed Pelini at the end of 2007 are the ones questioning the hire today. Maybe all of the people who say they want Pelini today weren't the ones trashing him at the end of 2007.

Fan bases are not monolithic.

Good point. Let's go ask Nebraska NOW, would they rather have kept Pelini, or do they prefer what happened afterwards?

Living in Nebraska for the past 14 years I can tell you that Nebraska fans were pretty happy with him as a coach and the team was winning every year but the anger issues were a problem and became too much of an embarrassment to the program.

Thant being said, the anger issues weren't new and CLM was able to keep him under control at LSU so I assume CEO will be able to do the same.

Pelini’s results at Nebraska were about as good as that school can hope for in this day and age. He won 9-10 games every year there. He was basically Les post 2011, only he isn’t charming and is a bit of a hot head.

I’d be willing to bet that most Nebraska fans would be thrilled to get back to that point.

That Arkansas game was brutal. If it wasn't for divine intervention we had no business being in that National Title game. Simply let a below avg QB carve us up.

It would be interesting to see how the players and program culture would respond to going from the most stoic guy on the planet to a highly emotional guy with anger issues at DC.

Maybe Moffit? Otherwise, not really.

That was sickening, but in those days LSU tended to play down to competition. I think that had more to do with CLM. Not excusing Pelini but that seemed to be the mindset of the entire team and that is on the head coach

LSU gave up approximately 30 ppg in the last 8 P5 games that season

Why are you lying, in order to stir up crap?

LSU gave up 30+ points only 3 times that season. Twice in games that went to 3OT, and then to Bama.

By your standard, Pelosi is still better than Aranda, because Aranda gave up 70+ to A&M.

Last 8 games against P5 opponents- gave up 237 points

237 ÷ 8 = 29.625 = approximately 30

Are you dumb?

I had issue with several game plans from Pellini - Tennessee 05, Florida 06, Arkansas 07 to name a few I remember specifically.

And honestly I am luke warm on the hire if he is the man.

But he is a good leader IMHO and that I think was his strength. I actually think he and Moffit filled some of the leadership and discipline void I think was there under Les. As a DC I think he was solid, not innovative. Not sure how he has adopted to today's offenses, I guess we'll find out.

No, I just understand how easy it is to score in overtime. Do you?

Pelini vs. all P5 teams in 2007, in regulation:
VTech 0
MsSt 7
SC 16
Fla 24
Ky 27
Aub 24
Bama 34
Ole Miss 24
Ark 28
Tenn 21
OSU 14

19.9 pts allowed per P5 opponent in 2007.

A whole lot better than "approximately 30", but you already knew that. That's why you cherry picked your bullshite stats.
