He’s really turned it on after starting abysmally

But he really is playing well, if only he could consistently make his 3's

i almost get the "ben voogd" syndrome when smart has the ball. he's not a good dribbler and he certainly doesn't dish the ball very well. i get really nervous when he has the ball.

My geriatric friend, this is a fricking trash take. Comparing Ben Voogd to this dude is laughable. He has singlehandely helped win us or keep us in multiple games the past 2 years. He is a good dribbler evidenced by the fact that he can get to the rim at will when he wants to. His assist to turnover ratio in SEC play laughs at you.

His dribbling and movement may be awkward looking at times, but he tends to keep the defense off balance with how he moves and his hop-step. He played 39 minutes last night and had 3 turnovers. Mays had four turnovers in less minutes and has five more turnovers than Smart in SEC play.

He often throws lazy passes, and needs to be better with decision making and valuing the basketball

in bounding the ball and breaking the press seemed to be a huge issue last night late. this team is so improved from the first few games. interestingly, last night we only played 7 players. that is more concerning moving forward.

He definitely does force the offense at times. He needs to work on hitting more of those 8-12 foot floaters when gets dribble penetration. Skylar should have point during clutch situations and last 2-3 of game if close game. Smart is still young and sometimes wants to do too much. It will come with experience but he is nowhere like Ben.
