No he wasn’t one of LSU best recruiters. I stepped up for him several times.

I have no problem with a person leaving for a better coaching opportunity but to try and take other staff members is pretty chicken shite. I remember Kirby doing the exact same thing when he went to UGA and Saban got pissed.

When you leave on good terms and you leave a place that actively assisted you in preparing you for a HC job it’s really in poor taste.

But, I think it reveals the questions about Aranda. He’s never looked like a guy who was. Head coach. Now, right out the gate, he’s leaning heavily on his previous stop. He doesn’t have the contacts to fill his staff. He seems to be modeling the program off of the LSU model. I’m very skeptical that he’ll be able to pull it off.

Per Embody on 247:

Louisiana defensive coordinator Ron Roberts is leaving to take the defensive coordinator position at Baylor, sources confirmed to 247Sports.

Correct but he isn't getting his job back from Bill Johnson. Never was.

Bill Johnson was a stop gap. They could bring him back but his contract is up in March

they signed him in a hurry to try to fill the void left by Meatball's injury. It always seemed like it was Bill Johnson's job to keep.

Such a dumbass take.

You mean the guy that just became head coach is reaching out to people hes worked with before to fill out his staff???? Its almost like hes trying to get coaches he knows and is comfortable with on his staff. Revolutionary.

Correct. When you’re hired to be head coverings coach you have to have a “take no prisoners” approach. It’s dog eat dog. You have one job: build the best staff you can.

I don't think he has ever been a DC so he is no more qualified than Raymond who they aren't hiring for DC so I guess the answer is no as of now.

Thanks...

I was asking because I thought I read that Aranda was looking at him for his DC.

Meatball has already been D Line Coach here then he got in a wheelchair. I think he’s gonna be d line coach when he’s recovered. If we lose him our recruiting would take a massive hit.

I no longer believe anything that comes out on that board! They said Jorge Munoz was already the PGC before they hired an OC.

That would have been the dumbest thing a HC could ever do. What happens if you hire an OC that doesn’t like Munoz style. There are some big time idiots over there

The Baylor premium board, that's been 100% accurate with all the other LSU coaches leaving, just chimed in saying they're confident he will be the DL coach at Baylor.

If that's true, then it would mean that Ed O has lost his faith in Meatball.
