Here's a bit of trivia for you. On January 1, 1981 lame duck president Jimmy Carter flew to New Orleans to attend the Sugar Bowl in the Superdome featuring UGA v. ND. Carter had already lost to Reagan and had less than three weeks left in office at that point. That game was UGA's last national championship.
