Leaving GA Monday morning around 2a.m. will spend monday scouting and then hunt every morning until sat. Anybody got any advice to give a fellow waterfowler? Will either be hunting bayou meto or the white river, any of you guys got experience with either?

Make sure you’re north of the nets is all I can say.

I think you may have to hunt White River, as there are restrictions on when non-residents can hunt Bayou Meto ( I believe). I think federal WMA's are open all season to non residents but the state properties only allow non-residents during certain times of the season. Might want to look at the Cache River - i have hunted White River Refuge a bunch and it is awesome, and not nearly the crowds of Bayou Meto.

Lol good luck baw... Meto is like the Wild Wild West. It’s a giant clusterfrick and as soon as the locals see an out of state license plate they won’t think twice to slash your tires, etc. Another thing is there aren’t a whole lot of birds around there right now. It’s very spotty some people are doing good in Stuttgart right now but for the most part it’s been a struggle. Specs and snows are everywhere right now though like normal so that’s what has been saving our hunts.

Just ask a local

Tell them you really aren’t concerned with mallards that you would be fine just shooting some wood ducks

Yeah, do some research and get a flat bottom boat and go hunt Kaw Lake in north Oklahoma. Less people and millions of mallards.
