One of the more telling stats I have come across is something I posted earlier regarding scoring defense by half.

LSU defense is ranked 10th in the nation in scoring defense in the first half of games only giving up 8.8 points. By comparison, Georgia is ranked 5th giving up 5.5. It's only the second half where they struggle. LSU is ranked 74th giving up 14 and Georgia is 1st only giving up 4.1 points per game.

I would imagine the second half issues have something to do with possibly losing focus (since LSU jumps on teams early), maybe a lack of depth at certain positions, rotating younger players in for PT, or a combination of all 3.

I hope the A&M game was a preview of what they are capable of when the play focused for 60 minutes.

Here are the second-half points allowed, by game:
Vandy 0
Tenn 0
Ark State 0
ND 7
Tenn 0
South Carolina 0
UK 0
Florida 14
Missouri 0
Auburn 14
Texas A&M 10
G Tech 0

UGA has been incredible in the second half at shutting out bad teams that were getting blown out.

They've been not nearly as impressive at stopping decent teams in competitive games.

Basically, when a good team has switched in to "need to score here" mode, they've been able to do so.

Unfortunately for UGA, LSU is always in "need to score here" mode.
