I
Here is a great stroy my dad told me that I always like to share with all the Tiger fans before we play A&M. This was in my dads words....
"Since the Tigers are
> playing the Aggies this week it reminded me of a funny thing that i witnessed
> in Tiger Stadium when I was a young boy. My Dad took me to the LSU/Aggie game
> in 1956 when Bear Bryant was still coaching the Aggies. Prior to the game 2
> of the Aggie yell leaders were around midfield with the Aggie dog mascot
> Reveille. They were having her show off in front of the Tiger fans. About
> that time Mike in his cage was brought onto the field and was stopped behind
> the south endzone. The Aggie yell leaders noticed this and took the leash off
> of Reveille and sicked him on Mike. Reveille took off in a full run toward
> Mike's cage. At about the 10 yard line Reveille must have got a whiff of
> Mike and tried to put on her brakes and slid end over end into the endzone.
> Reveille finally got to her feet, tucked her tail between her legs and took
> off in a dead run north. The dog is probably still running away from
> Mike. The LSU fans went wild when they saw what was happening. This is
> still one of my many great memories in Tiger Stadium."
My dad sent this story to Dandy Don wwbsite and Don emailed him back saying he remembered it also.
Geaux Tigers. Here’s to whipping the Aggies and payback for last year and capping off a perfect regular season today !

Similar story but at his cage. Back in the late 80's or early 90's my brother and family came down from KY for a visit in Feb time frame. My niece was about 5 at the time and me, my brother, and niece went to see Mike at his cage by the PMAC.
t was evening and it was cool. Mike was out pacing the inside perimeter of his cage which at the time was a double fence and kind of in an hourglass shape. We were the only ones there at the time.
We were just watching Mike prowl around when a car pulled up and parked about where the Tiger Gift Center is now. As soon as they pulled in Mike went into a crouch and death stare. Shortly after we saw why. The people got out with two yapping dogs that were going crazy, a doberman and another medium dog. They smelled that cat and could not contain themselves as the owners walked up to the cage area, thankfully with dogs on leashes. When they entered the viewing area Mike let out the biggest roar I have ever heard and those dogs crawled under a concrete bench and in the bushes and just whimpered. They refused to come out...

What did those dumbass yell leaders expect? The dog was going to attack a Tiger?

Cool story
I wish we had a sticky for classic Death Valley stories, for new fans (or recruits) to enjoy.

Man that would be so awesome to have a video of that dog hauling his arse way from Mike. Seems like last year bevo the Texas longhorn nearly got Georgia’s dog.
